Several of the knitters in our shop are taking part in the Odyssey Shawl Knit-Along, and in this week's Technique Tuesday, Kelley shared some tips for knitting this beautiful shawl. (It's not to late to get the free pattern and sign up!)

I loved her advice for using stitch markers to keep track of various things in the pattern:

Stitch markers can be a knitter's best friends! Kelley used them in an interesting way to keep track of her stitch count. In the first garter section, Kelley knew that each ridge represented four increases, so she placed a locking stitch marker every 10 garter ridges to make it easy to count her increases and make sure she was on track with her stitch count.

She also used ring stitch markers when knitting the lace bands of the shawl. Placing a marker between each repeat is such a great idea because you can check your work at the end of each repeat, instead of getting to the end of the whole row and realizing your count is off. Such a bummer when that happens, so place those markers and make your life easier.
