Many of us knit garments and accessories, but not home decor pieces. Kelley is working on her Cable Channel Knit-Along project, which is a pillow cover, and it got me thinking about all of the cool projects you can knit to bring your love of fiber into your home.

Mille Colori Pillow

Add a POP! to your decor with this Missoni-inspired pillow. It's knit from Mille Colori Baby, which comes in a variety of colors, one of which is sure to fit into your color scheme. There's a matching blanket pattern, too, if you really want to up the style quotient!

Lacy Tealight Covers

Knit them up in a metallic silver or gold and they're perfect holiday decor. You'll love the shadows the lacework creates when the candle light shines through. Really special.

Four Leaves Pillow from the Universal Yarn Design Team

This pretty pillow would compliment any room, but I love it as a bedroom accent pillow. Knit from Universal Uptown Bulky, you can make the Four Leaves Pillow for under 12 bucks! The finished measurement is 12" x 12", so it's a versatile size.

Tin Ceiling by Kyle Kunnecke

Inspired by the patterning of tin ceilings in old farmhouses, this gorgeous blanket is knit with variegated yarn to create a classic stranded colorwork throw.

The finished blanket is about 34” x 39” after blocking, so it's the perfect size for draping across the back of your couch or snuggling under for an afternoon read. You can alter the size of Tin Ceiling to make a shawl, or even a bed-size blanket. Use any DK-weight yarn for this project, but we suggest HiKoo Llamor, which comes in an amazing array of colors.

My Deer by Claire Garland

This one might be my favorite! It's a wonderful conversation-piece that adds a touch of whimsy to any room. I would love to see My Deer in a nursery, with a blue or pink bow. Cutenesss! This pattern is knitted in the round with no seaming, and the ears and antlers are knitted separately. The head is felted, to give it the stability it needs to hang correctly on the wall.

Use a feltable worsted-weight yarn (such as Cascade 220) to get the a trophy that measures about 12" x 8" when finished.

Burst by Amy Gunderson

This large, circular, GORGOEOUS blanket really makes a statement. Use Burst on a bed or folded in half on the back of a couch. To make a large blanket (88" circumference), use worsted-weight Universal Uptown Worsted, and for a smaller version (68" circumference), use Universal Uptown DK. Both are washable and hard-wearing.

Right Royal Cuppa Tea Cozy by Claire Garland

Claire knit her tea cozy in honor of the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (William and Kate). It's so darling, isn't it? Knit it up in any DK-weight yarn, such as Universal Bamboo Pop, HiKoo Sueno, or HiKoo Llamor.
